Why Obama is toast

Sun Feb 24, 2008 at 02:01:49 PM PDT

I think we're getting too cocky here.  The polls do not indicate him clearly winning ANY state other than VT right now, and the media is just waiting (they can wait infinitely) for Clinton to stage a comeback.  We have to keep calling other states, and donating, etc., just as we did before, because we are losing three of four contests right now.

Why?

Below the fold, folks, below the fold.

Oh, and "I drink your milkshake" is from "There Will Be Blood."  Keith Olbermann uses it all the time now.

  1. Yes, Clinton is acting really wacky right now.  But people enjoy watching that, and some people will vote for her because of it.  Some are angry at a perceived revolution of Gen X and Gen Y.  Some just like watching a car wreck, and don't want her out.  Some will have sympathy on her.  This is her strategy.  We may not fall for it, but people will.  So, be kind and avoid talking about her for the most part, and go back to selling Obama.
  1. The media will wait forever, as I said above.  They didn't do this for Giuliani, or for Huckabee, or even for Mitt.  They will wait beyond numerical improbability and cheer her on (for the most part ... KO will scream bloody murder) as she uses all kinds of tricks at the end to attempt to steer delegates (pledged, super, from DNC-booted contests) her way.  Tweety will call it "the victory of politics," because even though he hates her, he loves trickery.  The minute he loses, they will demand he leave the race.  Look for Rachel Maddow to say this, and Tweety, and the right-wing, and Fox, and Wolf (and lions and tigers and bears).
  1. Change is difficult.  Clinton's antics today were meant to convince all of you Oba-maniacs that change is easy: "Look, she's unhinged.  Dean Scream.  Jumped shark.  Fork in her, she's done."  NO.  The Dean Scream or the Gore as Liar only works if the MSM has a critical mass of heads pushing it.  They won't call her nuts, because they are afraid of her.  That's how you know she really is a little unhinged, because they fear her.  So, don't believe her hype.  She's not easy to defeat.  She never has been.  She and her big-money donors don't want the system to change that much.  We do, and we have to work REAL hard to get it.
  1. The 527 is rolling out the cannons this week.  It won't be enough time for Obama to link them directly to her through the donors, but it will be enough time to get seriously damaged BY them.  We can't counter them until they fire, but we can solidify support for him.  That's their tactical disadvantage.  The more people we get to help us out, or even listen to us, the ordinary folks, the more distant and cold-sounding any attacks from the TV sound.
  1. Until such time as she yells "I drink your milkshake" repeatedly, or breast-feeds a gibbon handpuppet on national TV, she is not finished.  And even then, she will not stop.  Has she said she'll stop after OH and TX?  No.  Bill did.  James Carville did.  She will not stop.  She is the Terminator.  Until the balloons drop on Obama's head at the DNC convention, she will not stop.  And even then, she may "be back" during the general.  THAT'S what her antics in the last two days have shown me.  She may not be able to be entrusted with helping out anyone in the Democratic Party that runs against her.
